STARTING FALL 2024
We are excited to announce that starting this fall, September, 2024, Fellowship Baptist Association will be offering Seminary Extension classes at Baptist Ridge Camp. Classes will be taught by Pastor Jimmy Johnson from Vista Baptist Church. One 3-credit hour course will be taught each semester. In the first year Pastor Johnson will teach Systematic Theology and How to Understand the Bible.
SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY 3 hours
A survey of Christian doctrines, with emphasis upon revelation, the nature and work of God, Jesus Christ, humankind and sin, the Holy Spirit, salvation, and last things or eschatology.
Course Cost (including textbooks) -- $300.00
HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE 3 hours
An introduction to the doctrinal, historical, and literary nature of the Bible and other general questions involved in reading the Bible with understanding. The course also deals with the authority, purpose, and message of the Bible; the history reflected in the Old Testament; and principles of biblical interpretation.
Course Cost (including textbook) -- $300.00
SCHEDULE
Courses will range from six to ten weeks depending on amount of coursework required for the particular class. Pastor Johnson will be available to teach on either Mondays or Fridays. The class schedule will be planned once potential students are identified.

WHO SHOULD TAKE SEMINARY EXTENSION COURSES
Seminary Extension courses provide an excellent learning opportunity for all church members, including volunteer or laypersons, bi-vocational ministers, fully-compensated ministers, and individuals who are simply interested in personal spiritual growth. So it does not matter if you are just starting in your Christian walk or you are a seminary graduate, you will find these courses helpful as you seek to minister as a part of God’s church.
OPTIONS: INDIVIDUAL COURSES OR PROGRAM ENROLLMENT
Seminary Extension offers more than fifty courses. Our courses are can be taken individually, or they can be taken as part of a program. There are Certificate programs and Diploma programs.
- Certificate programs include: Bi-vocational Ministry Studies, Lay Ministry Training, and Women’s Ministry.
- Diploma programs include: Biblical Studies, Educational Ministries, Ministries/Pastoral Education, Theological Foundation
TRANSFERRING SEMINARY EXTENSION CREDITS
Although many institutions accept credits earned through Seminary Extension, we must inform you that no institution is required to do so. If you intend to transfer Seminary Extension credits to another institution, you should contact the institution to which you intend to transfer credit before enrolling in a Seminary Extension course.
